If a vehicle has a faulty Immobilizer module or dashboard, the car will not start. In many older models (like the VW Passat B5.5), repairing the factory Immo system can be prohibitively expensive. PassatHook CS2 allows the user to modify the ECU software to "turn off" the Immobilizer check. This means the ECU no longer waits for a signal from the key/dashboard, allowing the engine to start freely—a common solution for engine swaps or track cars.
