A rabbit’s fur consists of millions of tiny, semi-transparent, high-contrast hairs. Unlike a cartoon or a solid wall, fur requires an enormous bitrate to render accurately. When a codec runs out of bits, fur is the first thing to go. It becomes a "shimmering" mush (temporal artifacts) or a "blocky" carpet (spatial artifacts). If a bunny’s cheek looks like a LEGO brick, your encoder is failing.
