Are you a bad person if you download a 1992 issue of Cerebus just to see the double-page splash of the Cirinist battle? Probably not. But you are violating the spirit of creator-owned comics, which Cerebus itself championed.

If you are new to the series, do not simply download Cerebus #1 and start reading. The first 25 issues are rough—amateurish art, sophomoric humor, and inconsistent storytelling. The series finds its feet in High Society (Issues #26-50). Here is a recommended reading order for digital downloads:
