Notable "features" or recent collaborations involving El Original include:
Historically, this initial style split into two core acoustic iterations: and Cumbia de Millo . Both variants completely bypassed brass and electronic modification, relying entirely on raw wind and drum pressure. 🎙️ The Golden Age & The Phonograph (1940s–1970s)
What separates el original cumbia from its derivative children (Mexican cumbia sonidera , Peruvian chicha , Argentine cumbia villera ) is the specific drum pattern known as the tambora base .
To appreciate the band, one must first look at the genre. Cumbia Santafesina (Cumbia from Santa Fe) is a distinct offshoot of Colombian cumbia and Peruvian chicha . While Buenos Aires’ cumbia ( cumbia villera ) focused on urban poverty and the villas miseria (slums), Santa Fe’s variant was born in the suburban dance halls ( bailantas ) of cities like Rosario and the provincial capital.
While the term "cumbia" today encompasses a vast universe of sub-genres—from the psychedelic sounds of 70s Peru to the electronic beats of modern reggaeton—there is a growing movement to reclaim and honor the roots of this musical giant. To understand "El Original Cumbia" is to understand the history of Latin America itself: a story of collision, fusion, resistance, and ultimate celebration.

I love this app. I like creating new outfits and really exploring all the possibilities. There are unlimited amount of clothing options to chose from so sky’s the limit. I hardly ever get bored because of the different fashion challenges to chose from like “first day of school outfits”, “dress like a boss”, or something simple as “dress the color yellow”. It’s so much fun! Your also able to see others creations and often times can’t believe how insanely good there edits are like something out of a magazine!
