Playing a deaf-mute character (Murphy "Barfi" Johnson) inspired by Charlie Chaplin and Mr. Bean, Ranbir delivered a performance with no verbal dialogue. Competing against the intense Manoj Bajpayee ( Gangs of Wasseypur ) and the seasoned Salman Khan ( Dabangg 2 ), Ranbir proved that acting is about the eyes, not the voice.
