Directed by John Lasseter, follows the story of Lightning McQueen, a sleek and speedy racing car voiced by Owen Wilson. On his way to the Piston Cup Championship, Lightning McQueen finds himself stranded in Radiator Springs, a charming but forgotten town on Route 66. There, he meets a cast of colorful characters, including Mater, a rusty tow truck voiced by Larry the Cable Guy, and Sally, a blue Porsche 911 voiced by Bonnie Hunt.

Here, the film transforms. It shifts from a sports epic into a philosophical meditation on fame. The residents of Radiator Springs— (Paul Newman), the grouchy 1951 Hudson Hornet; Mater (Larry the Cable Guy), the rusted tow truck; and Sally (Bonnie Hunt), the sleek 2002 Porsche 911—teach McQueen that trophies don't fill the soul; community does.
