The story begins with a tragic irony. Surinder “Suri” Sahni (Shah Rukh Khan) is a shy, simple, middle-class man with a receding hairline, thick mustache, and a bland wardrobe. He works as a clerk at Punjab Power. During the wedding of his former classmate, he meets the vivacious, young, and beautiful Tania (Anushka Sharma in her debut role).
The title itself is derived from a Punjabi wedding lyric, meaning "The couple made by God." The film suggests that we often overlook the partner God has chosen for us because we are too busy chasing a fantasy. It is a story about opening your eyes to the person standing right beside you—the one who waters your plants, fixes your TV, and sees the divine in your eyes. Film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi
