Valya Digest Vol 2 16 Jun 2026
The opening essay, attributed to “Editor K,” deconstructs the difference between ordinary awareness and what is termed the Second Attention . Unlike Carlos Castaneda’s usage, Valya’s Second Attention refers to the ability to perceive the alchemical gaps between thoughts—a state where sigils charge themselves without the magician’s direct will.
A complex, 16-step ritual requiring the practitioner to refer to themselves only in the third person or by a temporary alias for 16 hours. The goal is to loosen the ego’s grip on personal history. Notably, the Digest warns that this ritual has caused temporary disassociation in 3% of test readers and should not be performed while driving or operating heavy machinery. Valya Digest Vol 2 16
The practical exercise in this section is brutal: a 16-day rite of voluntary silence about one’s own spiritual progress . The practitioner is forbidden from discussing their meditations, dreams, or synchronicities with anyone, including online forums. The Digest calls this “The Muzzle of the Scribe.” The goal is to loosen the ego’s grip on personal history
Disclaimer: The practices described in the Valya Digest are metaphysical in nature and not a substitute for professional medical or psychological advice. Always consult a healthcare provider before undertaking breathwork or altered-state practices. or synchronicities with anyone
Practitioners on online forums (notably r/ValyaDigest) have reported mixed results, from intense pressure at the top of the skull to spontaneous recall of dream fragments from early childhood. Skeptics call it a nocebo; initiates call it the First Crack .
