As of 2025, MediaTek has ceased support for the RT28xx series. However, the open-source community maintains a of the rt2800 driver in Linux kernels 5.15+. For hobbyists, this means the Hk.t.rt2841p631 hardware can still function, but you must compile your own images from OpenWrt 23.05 source with the ramips/rt288x target.
