The printer tracks how much ink has been flushed into this pad using an internal counter. After approximately 8,000 to 15,000 pages (depending on usage), the counter reaches its limit. Epson programs the printer to shut down completely, displaying a "Service Required" error. Fix: Download a tool specifically for L380–L386

Check the box for (and "Platen pad counter" if available). Click Check to verify the current counter status. Click Initialize to reset the counters to zero.
