The 1.07 update was the culmination of two years of improvements, addressing feedback from players to make the experience more fluid and reliable, especially given its origin as a 2012 free RPG Maker 2000 project.
A young girl named Ib visits an eerie art museum with her parents. After examining a strange painting titled "The Fabricated World," the museum warps into a haunted, surreal dimension. Ib wakes up alone, separated from her parents, and must navigate the twisted gallery with the help of two other lost souls: (a gentle, anxious man) and Mary (a lively, mysterious girl). The goal is to escape, but who you trust and how you act determines who leaves with you.
In the area known as the "Fabricated World," there is a sketchbook puzzle involving a mouse-shaped hole. In v1.07, the hitbox for interacting with this object is smaller and less forgiving than in modern ports. This tiny, glitch-adjacent difficulty is a hallmark of the RPG Maker 2000 engine and is preserved perfectly in v1.07.
The update made it possible to play the game without the RPG Maker 2000 Runtime Package (RTP) , simplifying installation and compatibility issues for new users.
