For the uninitiated: Power Punch II is not a sequel in the traditional sense. Despite the "II" in the title, there was never a commercially released Power Punch I . The game was originally conceived as Mike Tyson’s Intergalactic Power Punch —a spiritual successor to the legendary Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! on the NES.

The release is a niche product for a niche audience. It will not convert anyone into a fan of unlicensed NES sports games. But for the retro enthusiast who wants to legally own a strange piece of gaming ephemera—a game that dared to compete with Punch-Out!! and failed spectacularly—this is a fascinating download.
