While not Aspire, VCarve Pro offers 2.5D design for free trial (fully functional for 30 days). After that, it costs ~$699 – much cheaper than Aspire.
There is no such thing as a free, full, legal version of Aspire 8.5. Vectric has never released their flagship product as freeware.
