The episode opens on a deceptively high note, continuing the escapades of the Winged Bloodline hunting party. We see Ragna and his mentor, the Crimson Dragon Slayer Leonica, doing what they do best: slaying dragons. For a moment, the animation shines with kinetic energy as Ragna spins and slashes through lesser dragons. However, the undercurrent of dread is palpable. While Leonica fights with the grace of a seasoned veteran, Ragna’s movements are fueled by a manic, almost psychotic, need to protect her.
The stage is set. The silverine blade is drawn. With the Winged King still at large and Crimson whispering poison into Ragna’s ear, Episode 3 cannot come soon enough. The war against the dragons has truly begun, and it is going to be a bloodbath.
Ragna Crimson Episode 2 was handled primarily by Studio Silver Link (known for Fate/kaleid liner and Bofuri ). While the premiere had a cinematic budget, Episode 2 settles into a more sustainable, but still impressive, TV anime quality.
