(also known as activated carbon) is a fine, odorless, black powder. It is typically produced from carbon-rich materials such as wood, coconut shells, sawdust, or peat. To "activate" the charcoal, these materials are subjected to extremely high temperatures combined with a specific gas, which creates a porous structure.
Also, charcoal causes constipation unless you drink massive amounts of water (at least 12–16 oz per dose). Add a natural laxative like psyllium husk if using for multiple days.
