Obtain the specific schematic for your serial number from JLG’s online portal (JLG Virtual Warehouse) before performing any wire splicing, as later 450AJ models (S/N 05000500+) use a different ground control module.

If the lift won't start, the diagram helps locate the main terminal box and battery disconnect.

| Symptom | Likely Circuit | What the Diagram Solves | | :--- | :--- | :--- | | | Fuel solenoid or Ignition circuit | Shows which relay provides power to the fuel solenoid. You will find a diode in that circuit (D1) that often fails. | | Boom drives but won't lift | Lift coil circuit or Limit switch | Shows the "High Drive Cutout" limit switches. If a limit switch is stuck open, the diagram shows how it disables lift but not drive. | | All functions work except turntable rotation | Rotation brake or potentiometer | The diagram reveals the rotation enable relay and the variable voltage signal from the swing joystick. You will test pin voltage (0-5V) at the swing controller. | | Error code "CAL ERR" on display | Angle sensor circuit | The wiring diagram shows the 3 wires: +5V, Ground, and Signal. You will measure the signal voltage as you manually raise the boom (should sweep from 0.5V to 4.5V). |

If you rent from United Rentals or Sunbelt, they often have proprietary access. Ask their service desk for a "PDF of the electrical print."
