Unknown to Catalina, she had left behind a daughter, also named Catalina (played by Carolina Gaitán). Raised by her aunt and grandmother in Colombia, young Catalina—affectionately called "Cata" or "La Petite"—grows up to be the image of her mother. The series explodes into motion when Hilda discovers the existence of the daughter and plots revenge, setting off a chain of events that forces the two Catarinas to confront their shared history.
