Benito Kamelas emerged in from the neighborhood of Almanjáyar , a gritty area of Granada often overlooked by the tourist guides. The original lineup—featuring Juan (vocals/guitar) and Joserra (vocals/bass) —forged a sound that fused the attitude of Leño and Barricada with the melodic sensibility of Platero y Tú and the fury of Rancid (American punk).
