One of the holy grails of Skyrim modding has always been putting armor on horses—or dogs, or even dragons. The Creature Framework provides the "slots" necessary for this. It creates a standardized node system on creature skeletons that allows armor pieces to be attached. Without this framework, adding a saddle to a horse requires overwriting the horse's nif file directly. With the framework, the saddle can be an equipable item, just like a helmet for the Dragonborn.
