Barron's releases a new edition every 2–3 years or whenever the College Board significantly changes the exam. The most current edition (as of this writing) is the 5th or 6th edition (depending on the print year). Many free PDFs floating around are the 2nd or 3rd edition, which still reference the "Pre-1200" content that was removed in 2019. Studying from an old PDF will cause you to waste hours memorizing the Byzantine Empire or early Islamic caliphates before 1200—content that is no longer tested.
