The original Conserve Italiane Cavalcanti brand was discontinued in the 1980s. However, several artisanal brands in Campania now produce "Metodo Cavalcanti" certified products as part of the Slow Food presidium.

Ursula Cavalcanti’s story begins far from the glitz of Cinecittà studios. Born on November 22, 1940, in the small town of Vercelli in the Piedmont region of Italy, she entered a world far removed from the glamour she would eventually inhabit. Vercelli was agricultural, a place of hard work and rice fields. It was here, in the "mondine" (the female rice weeders), that the archetype of the strong, resilient Italian woman was forged.
