Upon launch, the tool performs a chipset detection routine. You will see a window similar to this:
You attempt a BIOS flash using the manufacturer’s Windows utility. Halfway through, Windows crashes. The system restarts to a black screen. Without a backup, you now need an external hardware programmer (like CH341A) and a soldering iron. With a V2.0 backup taken before the update, you can often revert via USB BIOS Flashback (on supported boards) or use the backup to program a new chip. Universal BIOS Backup Toolkit V2.0
