This shift is the foundation of effective awareness campaigns. By centering the survivor rather than the perpetrator or the tragedy, campaigns shift the focus from fear to hope, and from despair to action.
There is a growing concern that AI-generated influencers or deepfakes could be used to fabricate survivor stories. While this is efficient for propaganda, it destroys trust. The future of effective campaigning will require verification systems—badges of authenticity, blockchain timestamping, or partnerships with trusted institutions—to prove that the survivor is a real human.
