By 1956, the superhero genre was waning, and DC Comics sought to revitalize it. Enter Barry Allen, a police scientist with a reputation for being slow, methodical, and chronically late. Created by Robert Kanigher, Carmine Infantino, and Joe Kubert, Barry Allen ushered in the Silver Age of comics.
