Shubhratri -2019- Web Series Jun 2026

Rono (played by Vikram Chatterjee) is a cynical, sleep-deprived photographer who works the night shift. He lives with the ghost of a failed relationship that has left him unable to commit. Shruti (played by Sauraseni Maitra) is a classical singer who suffers from severe anxiety and insomnia. She finds solace only in the dead of night.

Despite these minor issues, the legacy of Shubhratri is undeniable. It paved the way for other Bengali OTT shows that dealt with adult relationships and mental health, such as Hello (2020) and Bodhon (2021). It proved that Bengali audiences were hungry for content that respected their intelligence—content that didn't need a villain, a family court, or a love triangle to be compelling.
