Played by the phenomenal Lee Joon-gi, the male lead is a study in contradictions. He appears to be a psychopath—someone who cannot feel emotions or empathy. He mimics human behavior to blend in. Yet, as the series progresses, the audience is forced to question: Is he a monster, or a victim of circumstance? Lee Joon-gi’s performance is a tour de force, balancing the cold detachment of a sociopath with the subtle, heartbreaking vulnerability of a man who just wants to be loved.

Watching Flower of Evil on Starflix is a visual treat. Director Kim Cheol-kyu uses lighting masterfully. The "present" is often shot in cold blues and whites (the police station, the workshop), while flashbacks are shot in warm, nostalgic yellows (childhood trauma). This creates a confusing emotional palette that mirrors the protagonist's mind.
