The mobile Call of Duty clone. Sandstorm used a unique "snap-to-cover" system and featured full 3D environments. On 320x240, the iron sights actually worked. The game pushed the resolution to its limit, rendering enemy silhouettes at long distances. The campaign took you through Middle Eastern villages, and the multiplayer (over Bluetooth!) supported up to 4 players.
Before GTA: Chinatown Wars existed, Gameloft made Gangstar . This was a top-down 3D (using 2.5D perspective) open-world crime game. On a 320x240 screen, the minimap (top-right) was crisp, and the character sprites—while tiny—had distinct facial features. You could steal cars, buy properties, and cause mayhem.
