Unlike earlier MCU Blu-rays that suffered from DNR (digital noise reduction), Winter Soldier retains a healthy layer of natural film grain, giving it a cinematic, analog feel. Black levels are deep and inky—critical for the film’s many night-time sequences (the highway ambush, the bunker infiltration). Skin tones are natural, and the fine detail in the Winter Soldier’s costume (scratches on the arm, worn leather) is visible even on a 55-inch screen.
