Magoosh’s true value is in its question bank and video lessons – not the test simulation. Use it as a training ground, then switch to official ETS material 2–3 weeks before your real exam.
One of Magoosh’s strongest features is the ability to toggle between modes:
When you purchase a Magoosh TOEFL plan (usually 1-month, 6-month, or 12-month), you are not buying just one test. You are buying a library. Here is what their practice test ecosystem looks like.
On the real TOEFL, the Listening section does not allow you to see the question while listening to the lecture. Magoosh’s interface mimics this, but the "distractors" (wrong answers) on Magoosh are sometimes too easy to identify. The real ETS test has "near-miss" answers where two options sound correct. Magoosh's distractors are improving, but they aren't perfect.
