Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, the story follows a young, orphaned who is chosen by an ancient Wizard to become his new champion. However, Billy’s transition into Captain Marvel (now commonly known as Shazam) is interrupted by the return of Black Adam , the Wizard's former champion who was banished for millennia after being corrupted by his own power.
