Petruk, often depicted as tall and lanky, is the jester. He is loud, boisterous, and fiercely loyal. While Semar (their father figure) represents the divine spirit, Petruk represents the common man who uses humor to survive the harshness of life. His antics provide the comic relief necessary to balance the heavy philosophical themes of the Wayang stories.
