The program begins with a comprehensive orientation. Dr. Maria Sanchez (Class of 2020, STAR Cohort 12) grew up in a farmworking family in the Central Valley. She entered STAR at 18, graduated at 25, and is now a Family Medicine physician working at a community health center in Fresno.
